From the Executive Director – Sept/Aug 2022

A meeting of the minds: South Dakota News Watch reporter Stu Whitney (left), Rob Joyce, executive director (center), and Bart Pfankuch, content director (right), had a rare chance to gather in-person and catch up on News Watch business in Sioux Falls this past July.

South Dakota News Watch milestone

Last month South Dakota News Watch published our 300th story since the organization incorporated back in 2017. In our short five year history, News Watch has covered stories from every corner of South Dakota.

Reaching this milestone is an important accomplishment for us here at South Dakota News Watch. All of our articles, every single story we have written, is available on our website and can be found here. Our stories are archived on our site and just one click away.

Campaign 2023 is underway

We are excited to launch our new fundraising campaign.

South Dakota News Watch, one of about 360 independent nonprofit news organizations throughout the U.S., produces trustworthy nonpartisan coverage for South Dakota that is vital in a well-functioning democracy and civil society.

With your partnership and financial support, News Watch has remained true to its mission since it began in 2018, fulfilling its “watchdog” role, earning the public’s confidence and operating with integrity. We accomplished this with thorough and unbiased news and information. No commentary. No opinions. No editorials.

Our motto: INFORM. ENLIGHTEN. ILLUMINATE.

We appreciate your continued support and look forwarding to visiting with you in the coming weeks, to express our gratitude, to brief you about expansion plans for 2023 and respond to your questions.

Help us to sustain our important work.

Please consider increasing your contribution so we can continue to deliver high-quality journalism for South Dakota. We appreciate all support and donations.
